Update

My mom is complaining of a lack of grandbaby pictures and updates on us. Let's see... Jade will be 8 next week. We're planning a laid back day, no huge party or anything. She likes to cook, so we'll probably make her cake together. (Today she made pancakes for breakfast.) Nova is four and a half, and is becoming quite the articulate little kid. She is learning how to write her name, and it is so cute. Elliott is 22 months. Monday evening he said "I love you" for the first time! He loves to climb all over us and roughhouse, laughing like crazy all the time.

Here they are!

So how 'bout that housing market?

I want a house. I want a house bad. I want a house SO BAD! Yes, I am aware that I am a big baby about this. But come on! Don't I deserve to have a house? A place for my sweet babies to grow up in, to call home? Well, we're looking. It wont be in the Bay Area, oh no. Because we are poor. Ok, we aren't poor, but we can't afford a house here. We'll have to move. So far we are considering the Phoenix area, and the Boulder area. The trick is, we want to find a place we can stay for the next 30 years without having to move again. Wishful thinking? Maybe, maybe not. Ideally we'd like a four bedroom, but a three bedroom with a living room and family room, or a finished basment where we could add a bedroom or two would be just peachy.

15 minutes of blather about my life

Things are pretty good. I'm on medication for my mental illness. It seems to be helping. I'm not sure if I'll have to stay on it forever, or what will happen, but for now, it is working and I am happy with it. I gained a bunch of weight the first two months I was on it- a full 25 lbs the first 8 weeks. I switched to taking it at night, before bed (it also made me sleepy), and started back on Weight Watchers. Well, in 12 weeks, I've only gained a total of 1 pound. That is WAY better, and I am so proud of myself. This is hard to deal with, because I was really hungry all the time. Not so much anymore. My new goal is to lose just 2 lbs and keep it off for 6 weeks. I don't want my weight to be yo-yoing all over the place like crazy. I just want my clothes to fit and to be comfortable in my own skin.

Housework is getting easier. I started reading FlyLady e-mails again, making routines and following the Do-It-Now principles she espouses. Bed routine is pretty simple- brush my teeth, take my medication and vitamins, shine my kitchen sink. I'm trying to make myself lay out my clothes each night, and often start a load of laundry. Got tripped up for a while with not putting stuff away after it had been dried, and I filled up all my baskets and then didn't want to do any laundry. I'm working on that. I think the kinds need to get involved, that's what I think! Often I'll throw in a few other chores too, like I might sweep and swifer the kitchen floor, or sanitize the sink and counters.
