It's Memorial Day Weekend, and Life is Good

Things seem to be settling down round here, and I am enjoying life with three kids, life in our new home, life in general.

Our official homeschooling year is over. No more required paperwork, no more meetings. Just living. Jade is having fun helping with our household projects, riding a two wheeled bike, and hanging out with hands.

Nova is her typical self. Still moody and temperamental, a prima dona, "Princess." She loves to be babied, to paint and play with play dough. She plays by herself, in the dirt, the mud, the sand, for hours. She rides her trike, and comes back to pick spinach leaves from the yard for a snack. She's a sweet baby, on the cusp of becoming a kid.

Elliott is crawling, and nearly pushing himself to sitting. He's had a few tastes of food, banana and avacado, and raw carrot sticks. He seems to have stopped pooping, or nearly so, which I find concerning. I'm laying off the solids for a bit to see what happens. Anyway, he puts EVERYTHING in his mouth, which is a new experience for me, and he's a choker too, which is annoying. Needless to say, I am busting my butt to get the house cleaned and vacuumed, etc.

Nick is still working at Google. He seems happy with it, and he's made some friends. It's been a little over a year now. We got our first round of stock options. Hopefully we'll be using them to buy a washer and dryer soon. We've been way to broke to afford them until now. He also wants to buy a new camera. Could be cool.

I am enjoy life. My kids are fun, I have fun hanging out at parks most days, I've started gardening. I am making the assumption that we will be here three to five years, so I'm allowing myself to live with that expectation. I built mayself a little 6 inch 3 by 4 raised bed. I'm doing square foot gardening in it. Planting carrots, chard, lettuce, a tomato plant, peper plant, basil, lettuce, and a pumpkin plant. It's jam packed in there! :-) (The pumpkin plant I'm going to attempt to train to grow off the side of the box.) I hope it fares well. I feel like Wonder Woman for building it. I took all three kids with me to Home Depot, bought all the materials, and put it together all by myself. And I didn't even end up like a screaming lunatic! It's amazing. I'm so proud.

I'm packing for the trip to Michigan. We leave very, very early Wednesday morning. Should be fun! Tiffany, if you wanna get together, call me at my moms.

Jade is really looking forward to our trip. She's intent on convincing Papa to take her bowling and Chuckie Cheese's. So Papa, be warned, she's gonna turn her big brown eyes on you! :D
